You don’t have to be a bodybuilder to gain the physical benefits of weight training. When done correctly, weight training can assist with fat loss, increased muscle strength and tone and improved bone density. However, if done incorrectly, weight training can be dangerous and may lead to injuries.
There are thousands of online workouts available and many different apps for your phone but how do you know which program is right for you? It’s important to remember, what works for someone else, may not necessarily work for you.
My best advice is, before starting any resistance training program, see a fitness professional to have an assessment done and get a program written specifically to suit your needs. Even more importantly, make sure you are shown how to do all of the exercises correctly.
Remember, the more you focus on proper weight training technique, the more you’ll achieve in your workouts!
